If today were your last day of living, how would you spend it? Would you look back on your life and feel satisfied, or would you wish you had done things differently? If you could do it all over, what would be different?
Let’s face it; everyone makes mistakes, because we are human. The human condition is fragile, and sometimes impulsive, but often repetitive and predictable. People get into patterns and they don’t always know how to get out. Many of us pretend we are happy, when in reality we are day-dreaming about other things we wish we could do, but find impractical.
Impracticality is an illusion. Unless it’s against the law, it isn’t really impractical, is it? If you know what your passion is, you should be out in the world living it. I told myself for years that I couldn’t be a writer, because it was impractical. I needed to be a lawyer, or a doctor, or some sort of secretary in an office. I couldn’t just be a writer, could I? My previous thinking is what stopped me from living a more satisfying life.
The truth is if you love something enough, then you should have the drive to do what it takes to achieve your desired outcome. If you want to be an artist, create art. If you want to be an author, then you have to write. If you want to be an astronaut, then you had better get to it. You shouldn’t let anything stand in the way of what you are genuinely passionate about.
If you have no idea what your passion is and you are floundering around in life, then you should make it your job to find your passion. Life is way too short to be unhappy and stuck. Know yourself inside and out, because you can’t show a lover who you really are, if you have no idea, yourself.
Life is an adventure; one of the biggest and best adventures out there. Live each day to its fullest and remember; only you can change your situation for the better.
